Morning Sessions

Safety and Modern Drilling Technologies:

Education, research, and technology are evolving quickly in tandem with the increase in demand for oil and its derivatives in order to advance the oil and gas business by creating new technical approaches, standards, and best practices. By creating a hole or bore through the surface of the ground, drilling is a special mechanical procedure intended to bring petroleum oil hydrocarbons to the surface. Drilling fluid is used in geotechnical engineering to facilitate the drilling of earthen boreholes. In addition to being used to locate geologic resources, drilling rigs also make holes that enable the extraction of oil or natural gas from those reservoirs. Wells for gas and oil are typically drilled vertically. The development of technology has enabled operators to help speed up processes, cut back on expenses, and limit their impact on the environment.

Evening Sessions

New Techniques for Oil Recovery and Refining:

Crude oil is transformed into useful goods through the refinement process. A variety of hundreds of different hydrocarbons with variously sized carbon chains make up crude oil. During refining, these can be separated. These are the refining techniques: Crude distillation allows for physical separation; conversion or upgrading of the basic distillation streams; product purification and pollution removal; and product combining to produce goods that meet market requirements. Using heat (thermal) or catalysts, cracking operations convert heavier hydrocarbon molecules (high boiling point oils) into lighter substances like gasoline and diesel (catalytic). Improving Oil Recovery Via the Finishing of Bottom Water Drainage. According to field experiments using DWS well completions, reduces water condensation while boosting oil production.

Morning Sessions

Digital Transformation:

This initiative, which focuses on the Forum's brand-new prospects and issues originating from the most recent advancements in the digitalization of business and society, is known as the Digital Transformation Initiative. The effects of digitalization on the oil and gas industry were examined at all points along the value chain, from exploration and production through midstream (refineries) and retail. In order to better comprehend a reservoir's resource and production potential, enhance health and safety, and increase marginal operating efficiencies at oil fields around the world, the oil, gas, and petroleum industries have started to digitalize. The life cycle of digital assets, Beyond the barrel: a circular collaborative ecosystem energizing new energy.

Evening Sessions

Transportation and Pipelines:

Transporting products through a pipeline entails doing it through a pipe. Pipes are used to transport gases and liquids, and they can be used to transport any chemically stable substance. There are pipes for the transportation of sewage, slurry, water, beer, and fuels like crude and refined petroleum, fuels like oil, natural gas, and biofuels. When water needs to move over hills or when canals or channels are unsuitable owing to concerns about dehydration, pollution, or environmental damage, pipes are a good option. They can also be used to transport water for irrigation or drinking over large distances.

Morning Sessions

Integration of the Upstream, Downstream, and Midstream:

Companies that work in upstream oil and gas locate deposits, drill wells, and extract raw materials from the earth. Related services including rig operations, feasibility analyses, equipment rental, and extraction chemical supply are also a part of this industry. Major diversified oil and gas companies like Exxon-Mobil are among the biggest upstream operations. The upstream and downstream entities are connected through midstream operations. Transportation and storage of resources using pipelines and gathering systems are the main components of midstream activities. Examples of midstream companies include Kinder Morgan and Williams Companies.

Afternoon Sessions

Geology and exploration

The geological research of subterranean reserves, the identification of potential locations, the detection of fields, and their evaluation and pre-development are all part of the manufacturing and R&D activities of geological prospecting and exploring for oil and gas. Geological prospecting's ultimate goal is to develop underground resources. The fundamental tenet of geological prospecting is the comprehensive geological study of subsurface resources when, in addition to oil and gas exploration, all associated components (petroleum gas and its composition, sulphur, rare metals, etc.) are also examined. Other studies include hydrogeological, coal mining, engineering, geological, and financial indicator and their modifications brought on by potential field development are examined.

Morning Sessions

Refining and Fuels

Warm rough oil is modified into a gas for the first half. The heated gases are transferred into the base of a refining section and gradually cool as they ascend its height. The gases condense into a fluid as they cool down beneath their brink. The fluids are then extracted from the refining portion at precise heights, beginning with heavy dwells at the bottom, crude diesel fuel in the middle, and crude gas at the top. These basic divisions are then prepared to produce a variety of finished goods. Although every aspect of oil discovery is used, gas is the most popular. Only 30– 40% of the fuel in one barrel of crude oil is used. Transportation needs demand that gas be "changed over" into more than half of the crude oil.

Afternoon Sessions

Advanced Oil and Gas Technologies:

The only two elements that make up the compounds that make up oil and gas are hydrogen and carbon. Oil and natural gas reserves can now be discovered all over the planet. In the past, there were plenty of reserves and little demand. In reality, the initial users of oil received their supplies from surface oil excretion. Nonetheless, all readily accessible oils have been used as demand has grown. The most difficult locations on earth are now used for oil exploration. Everyone is currently searching for fresh oil deposits hundreds of feet beneath the sea and on land. This lesson covers the formation of oil and natural gas, the refining of crude, and hydrocarbons and hydrocarbon reservoirs, pipelines for refined oil, natural gas exploration and production, and oil and its restoration.

Morning Sessions

Various computational techniques

Petroleum engineering uses technology in a variety of ways based on the region because it is now harder to extract hydrocarbons even in challenging terrain like deep water, arctic, and desert conditions. In order to access these difficult-to-reach resources, new concepts had to be developed, which required petroleum engineers to have a thorough understanding of several topics like thermo-hydraulics, geomechanics, and intelligent systems. As a result, the use of petroleum engineering technology is more important in supporting engineers in their work. Petroleum engineering technology is improving and has advanced in computer modeling and simulation, statistical and probability analysis, as well as in novel concepts such horizontal drilling and the improvement of recovery of oil.

Afternoon Sessions

Major Oil Issues and the Global Crisis

Petroleum Economics is central to all decision-making and has a vital role to play in the oil and gas industry. Several techniques have developed over time for estimating economic inputs, analyzing investments, assessing risk, and creating workable portfolios. Petroleum economics combines knowledge and experience from several E&P areas, and it calls for a thorough understanding of terms like cash flow analysis, organizational difficulties, price forecasts, cost drivers, and risk management. The 2019 Petroleum Engineering Conference seeks to unite a diverse industrial audience, including experts in economics and decision-making.

Morning Sessions

The effects of the oil and gas sectors:

Hydrocarbons are a group of compounds that are mostly composed of carbon and hydrogen. They make up major portions of both oil and common gas. These pollutants increase global warming and the nursery effect, deplete ozone, increase respiratory illness and growth issues, reduce plant photosynthetic capacity, and, in the case of oil slicks, cause enormous damage to biological systems. Huge oil slicks are a prominent source of damage to biological systems and human health because they impede pores, restrict breathing, and hurt animals that consume them. Oil is not only harmful in large spills; even little amounts from automobile accidents and other sources can have overall effects that can be extremely harmful to the planet.
